On the morning of Aug. 22, the Taikang Insurance Group signed a donation agreement in Beijing with Wuhan University, announcing that it will donate RMB 1 billion to the university and that the two sides will carry on in-depth cooperation.

8月22日上午，泰康保险集团与武汉大学在北京签署捐赠协议，泰康保险集团向武汉大学捐赠10亿元，并开启深度合作。

Chen Dongsheng, chairman of Taikang, said: "The donation will be used to establish a Taikang medical and education fund at Wuhan University which will support the development of first-class medical and life science disciplines at the university so as to help constantly enhance China's scientific and technological innovation in the field of medicine."

泰康保险集团董事长陈东升说：“该笔捐赠将设立“武汉大学泰康医学与教育基金”，用于支持武汉大学建设一流医学和生命科学学科，持续提升我国医学领域的科技创新能力。”

Statistics show that this donation is the largest Wuhan University has ever received and one of the largest ever given to the medical and life science disciplines in a university in China.

据统计，本次捐赠是武汉大学历史上受赠数额最大的一笔，也是我国大学医学、生命科学学科领域数额最大的捐赠之一。
