Wang Dongsheng, 71, and his wife Chen Aiwu, 69, traveled all over China's 23 provinces, five autonomous regions, four municipalities directly under the central government, and two special administrative regions, as well as in Southeast Asia, in a "Huanghai" 7-seater diesel SUV, which they call the "Challenger." Chen said the challenge of the car is its capability to climb mountains and cross ridges, and her own challenge is up to fate.

71岁的汪东生、69岁的陈爱武老两口开着一辆“黄海”牌7座越野车，游遍了中国23个省、5个自治区、4个直辖市、2个特别行政区。“黄海”7座越野车也叫“挑战者”，陈爱武说，她跟这个车有缘。车挑战的是它能不能爬山过坎的性能，她自己挑战的则是命运。

In April 2012, Chen and Wang bought the SUV and prepared to drive around China in it. But in the second month after buying the car, Chen was diagnosed with severe hepatitis C, which brought a double blow to Chen's spirit and body.

2012年4月，陈爱武、汪东升买回了心仪的“黄海”牌7座柴油越野车，准备自驾周游全中国。车买回来的第二个月，陈爱武查出了丙肝重症，这给陈爱武的精神和身体带来双重打击。

On July 1, 2013, after her 17th hospitalization, Chen, still on crutches, started her first road trip with her husband. At that time, although she was 1.66 meters tall, she weighed only 35 kg.

2013年7月1日，在第十七次住院治疗结束后，陈爱武拄着拐杖就和老伴汪东升开始了第一次自驾游，当时身高1.66米的她，体重只有35公斤。

The couple traveled more than 11,400 kilometers and experienced dangerous situations such as the earthquake and mud slides in Qamdo City, Tibet Autonomous Region. When she returned to Wuhan, Chen could throw her crutches away, her hair had grown back, and her weight had increased by 23 kg.

此次老两口行程11400余公里，在路上经历了昌都地震、泥石流等险象。履行后回到武汉，陈爱武拐杖丢掉了，头发重新长了出来了，体重增加了23公斤。

With the help of translation software, the couple also traveled to Laos and Thailand in Southeast Asia, after which the odometer of the "Challenger" read 102,700 kilometers.

利用翻译软件，老两口游遍东南亚的老挝、泰国，“黄海”越野车现在的里程表显示是102700公里，这是老两口在中国大陆和东南亚的自驾里程。

The couple's driving mileage of rented cars is also close to 100,000 kilometers, in which they have driven around Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Vatican in Europe, as well as Australia and the U.S. While driving through the foreign countries, they couldn't get used to eating bread. So the couple cooked rice.

老两口在境外的租车自驾里程也接近10万公里。他们的脚步遍布欧洲的德国、法国、意大利、瑞士、列支敦士登、梵蒂冈、奥地利，美洲的美国，大洋洲的澳大利亚。在异国他乡自驾，吃不惯面包，二老边开车边煮米饭吃。

Chen said the car was meant for her. "Health permitting, we want to be on the road when we are 80!"

“如果身体允许，我们到80岁了还想自驾游！”
