WISCO No. 1 blast furnace transformed into industrial site park | 武钢一号高炉变身工业遗址公园

On Sept. 13, 1958, the No. 1 blast furnace of the Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp. (WISCO) was put into operation. On Oct. 14, 2019, it officially stopped production. This year, WISCO invested RMB 80 million to transform the furnace into a national industrial site park.

1958年9月13日,武钢一号高炉建成投产。2019年10月14日,一号高炉宣布停产。今年,武钢投入8000万元,将一号高炉改造为国家工业遗址公园。

During its 61 years of operation, the furnace produced 54.2 million tonnes of pig iron, making great contributions to the construction and development of the national economy. It outperformed its mission of revitalizing the national industry.

投产61年间,一号高炉累计生产生铁5420万吨,为国民经济建设发展做出了巨大贡献,已超额完成了它的民族工业振兴使命。

Currently, WISCO is conducting the comprehensive landscape renovation of its entire plant area. The project initially focuses on the No. 1 blast furnace industrial site, both the blast furnace body and the surrounding areas, and is planned to be completed by the end of 2021. At that time, the park will allow people to experience its glorious past.

今年,武钢推进厂区景观提升综合整治,将一号高炉工业遗址作为重点项目,对其周边区域和高炉本体进行改造,计划2021年年底完工。届时,一号高炉将变身工业遗址公园,让更多人身临其境地体验它曾经光辉的岁月。
