The 4th Hubei Arts Festival opened at the Wuhan Hongshan Assembly Hall on the evening of Sept. 17.

9月17日晚，第四届湖北艺术节在武汉洪山礼堂拉开帷幕。

The festival, held every three years, is the largest comprehensive arts festival in Hubei. This year's will last until Sept. 30. More than 20 performances from various art troupes all over the province will be staged in Wuhan during the two weeks.

湖北艺术节每三年一届，是我省规模最大的综合性艺术活动。本届艺术节将持续至9月30日，为期14天时间里，来自全省各地文艺院团的20多部舞台剧目将在汉集中上演。

These performances come in a variety of art forms, covering traditional Chinese Opera, modern dramas and operas, as well as dances and musicals. Out of these shows, there are a number of new works dedicated to fighting epidemics, including the opening opera "The Angels' Diaries" on Sept. 17, the drama "Heroes in Harm's Way," and the Huangmei opera "Epidemic · Spring."

这些剧目涵盖了戏曲、话剧、歌剧、舞剧、音乐剧等多种艺术形式。其中不乏以战疫为主题的新作，如于17日上演的开幕演出歌剧《天使日记》，以及话剧《逆行》、黄梅戏《疫·春》等。

Among them is "The Angels' Diaries" created by Hubei Provincial Opera and Dance Drama Theater. The program is the country's first anti-epidemic themed opera. It premiered last year and was put onstage at the National Center for the Performing Arts in June this year.

其中，由湖北省歌剧舞剧院打造的全国首部抗疫题材歌剧《天使日记》，去年首演，并于今年6月亮相国家大剧院。

Except for the opening and closing ceremonies and the two operas "The Red Guards on Honghu Lake" and "Red Lotus," performances during the festival are open to the public for free.

本届艺术节除开幕式、闭幕式、《洪湖赤卫队》《红荷》外，其余均为免费惠民演出。
